This month we deploy one of the most renowned mercenary forces of the Free Cities: the Golden Company of Marenstatd. Attired in the style of the wealthy southern lands (Tiberium), they combine martial discipline with the ostentation of those who collect their dues in pure gold.
“ALL’ANTICA” DESIGN
For this unit, we have captured the “All’Antica” style, typical of the southern renaissance. You will see a unique fusion: renaissance plate armor mixed with Roman pteruges and Byzantine reminiscences. Furthermore, following your advice, we have crowned the helmets with feathers, adding that verticality and arrogance typical of elite troops.
WEAPONRY AND SHIELDS
The troops carry the “tabulaccio”, a classic oval shield that brings an exotic touch to the formation.
Versatility: Although their primary function is that of halberdiers (perfect for stopping charges), we have included sword options. This will allow you to use them with total flexibility, whether as the Paymaster’s escort or as heavy swordsmen in any fantasy wargame.
THE PAYMASTER
The heart of the Company. To give it unique charisma, we have designed the Paymaster as a Dwarf in rich vestments; after all, he is the one financing the uniforms.
The Detail: Look closely at his personal heraldry: the keys to the chest hang intertwined in his own mustache. A symbol that the treasure never leaves his sight.
