This is our third entry and we decided talk about scenery for Warhammer Fantasy, Mordheim (Empire in flames) or 1650 A Capa y Espada. We think that a tabletop with scenery is always much fun than without it, for that reason we use to build scenery pieces.
Last days we were speding time thinking about a Warhammer Fantasy scenery porject. We wish build our own modular tabletop. We thought that we will need a river and it reminded something.
When we were kids we played a Warhammer Fantasy campaing in Ponferrada (León-Spain). One of the objetives of the campaing was take under our control a shawmill. At the end the shawmill become the bigest battle field.
When we start a new scenery project our first work is find real models. Most of the times we could find pictures on the internet, books, and travel pictures (pinteres is cool!). So we have enough before to planning our scenery.
We got a simple idea, a wooden building next to a river. Besides we must use different textures, doing that we avoid that it looks plain afther paint it.
With all that in our minds, we started finding models.
First we did the main beams to support the floor and the rooftop. We cut 0.5cm in width balsa wooden and glue it with wood glue and cyanocrylate.
Roof beams were so important. We used that to avoid that all model could shake!
We wanted vertial beams fiting it roof beams, so we hollowed out wooden beams. Horizontal beams were added at the roof. We will use them to put wooden boards over it.
